Charnwood W650 Professional Cast Iron Table Saw 10″ Diameter Blade
The Charnwood W650 Professional Cast Iron Table Saw is the perfect fit for the small professional workshop.
Description:
The W650 Table Saw is designed to handle the daily demands of professional users and home workshops where the saw is in regular use.
Underneath the cast iron table sits a 3hp induction motor. The heavy duty motor mount is made from cast iron. The trunions, which allow the blade to tilt, are also made from cast iron. The entire mechanism is supported by a welded steel frame, leaving no hanging weight to stress the cast iron table, which simply sits on top.
That table is precision ground to give a flat surface that will last forever. The surface area is further increased with the addition of 2 steel extension tables offering greater support when working with larger panels and boards.
The guide fence, for making ripping cuts, has a cast iron body which glides smoothly along a solid round steel bar with a measuring scale marked out in millimeters. When a very accurate dimension is required the fence position can be fine tuned by turning a micro adjuster.
The fence itself can be used in two positions: high or low. For general working the higher fence face is used, but for cutting very narrow strips the fence is rotated to the low position to give clearance right up to the side of the blade.
For quick crosscut jobs there is a sliding mitre fence supplied which runs in one of the T-slots, located on each side of the saw blade. The body is adjustable up to 60 degrees in each direction. It has preset stops to locate it accurately at 45 degrees and 90 degrees. A home made sacrificial fence can be easily mounted using the fixing holes provided. The latest model uses the USA standard width mitre slot, of benefit for those looking to add aftermarket accessories (earlier model uses the EU standard).
On the left hand side of the saw is the sliding crosscut carriage. The table is again made from cast iron and precision ground for a durable flat surface. The table runs on four sealed for life bearings along an aluminium guide track. The fence itself can be locked at any angle from 90 to 45 degrees, and there is a positive stop to ensure the fence returns back to the 90 degree position. A vertical work clamp ensures timber stays locked in position during the cut. A flip-over length stop for accurate repeat cutting completes the carriage assembly.
The power is generated from a 2200w (3 hp) braked induction motor which gives a low noise level and will run from any standard 13amp, 240v power supply.
Setting the saw blade angle and height is done using two separate large diameter hand wheels. Turning the front hand wheel clockwise 1 rotation lowers the blade by 2mm. The tip of the blade can be lowered to flush with the table top. The other hand wheel sets the blade angle between 90 to 45 degrees with a lock to stop it from creeping. A large easy to read scale on the front of the cabinet is used to measure the angle which has been set.
Efficient dust extraction is included as standard. Dust is collected from the overhead saw guard and a hose transfers it to the rear of the machine. Underneath the saw blade is a hood which collects more dust and transfers it to the same collection point. A single extractor hose connection point of 100mm diameter is provided to the right hand side of the machine.
The table saw is supplied with four adjustable feet for leveling on an uneven surface.
Supplied with 36 tooth TCT sawblade, push stick, rip fence, mitre guide, 1.8m power cable and UK 3 pin plug.
